The foundation of any claim or argument is evidence. It is how you prove the validity of the information you’re giving to readers.

Remember the rhetorical appeal logos and what it stands for:

In technical writing, this evidence can appear in one of two ways:

Written Evidence: Facts, figures, data in general. Expert testimony. Your own findings from an original experiment or original research.
Visual Evidence: Photos, charts, graphs, maps, diagrams, and more.
